Hush! The boy’s asleep, 
dreaming of a highwayman 
riding, riding, 
of love and tragic death. 
Stay your barrel organ noise, 
young Alfred rests.

  1. So, smart observers on Facebook have risen to the challenge and pointed out that the poet Alfred Noyes (1880-1958) was born in Wolverhampton. He was born in St Mark's Rd Chapel Ash, actually, and his most famous poems are 'The Highwayman' and 'The Barrel Organ'
